Opened in 1854, the brewery in Kőbánya became Hungary’s first brewery that still operates today—as the Dreher Sörgyárak Zrt. brewery.

In the mid-19th century, Antal Dreher introduced bottom fermentation brewing technology and developed a new type of beer: Lagerbier. He later earned the distinguished title of “Beer King” thanks to this achievement, and it formed the foundation of the exceptional Dreher beers.

From the very start, Dreher enjoyed success at numerous international fairs and exhibitions, winning a gold medal at the 1900 Paris World’s Fair. Members of the Dreher product family continue to receive prestigious recognition at international beer competitions on a regular basis.
